Testing center of excellence

The Center of Excellence (which, as we have noted in the past, has now replaced Centre of Excellence) is a concept which has been around for some time. It has gone in and out of favour as organisations have changed and adapted to different approaches for building and delivery IT.

HP software have been using the term to cover their QA and testing offerings. HP Performance Center is performance testing software aimed at supporting a performance testing center of excellence (COE). There is also the HP appliction security center. And Paladion have announced that they have built an Application Security Testing Centre of Excellence around this HP tool, in India. It combines an IT infrastructure with experienced security testers and best practices in using HP application security center. Its purpose it to locate and fix security vulnerabilities in computer software applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
